Motivation!

As you all know I'm dieting and trying to get healthier. So far, I've dropped six pounds! I just keep thinking that six pounds of fat would have been bigger than Reagan when I brought her home! Unbelievable! It's like I gave birth again!

I've found a great way to motivate myself further and I wanted to share it all with you in case there are any others out there trying to lose the baby weight! First, I found some pictures of myself at various times of my life that I just loved, then I posted them around the house..on the door of the fridge, on the door of the pantry, on the bathroom mirror, with a sticky note beside each that says how much weight to go til I get to what I looked like in each picture. I think it's a great motivational tool!

Second, I've noticed that I looked so incredibly happy in each of those pictures..big huge smiles....genuinely in love with life, almost glowing!...I NEVER look like that anymore..and this is supposed to be the happiest time of my life. I realize now that it's because I'm NOT happy with myself or the way I look or feel. I look crappy and I feel crappy. This is also a huge motivator for me to get in shape again!

Good luck to everyone out there trying to live a healthier lifestyle!

  1. Congrats on losing the first six pounds! It takes a lot of effort, but it is worth it in the end.

I'm half way to my stated goal of 10 pounds. It would be great to lose more than that, but these 10 will get me back to where I was before I got pregnant with Boo.

Good luck on your continued journey!

  2. Congrats, Leah! That is great realistic motivation. I want to lose 10-15 pounds to be at my ideal "happy" weight and I've been so unmotivated lately it isn't even funny. We are TTC, so that alone doesn't help in attempting to lose weight when you're going to gain it right again. But just reading your post has inspired me to be better about just eating better and exercising more.
Thanks, Leah, and keep up the great work!!! :)
